Health And Care
German Shepherd is the most versatile dog that is admired and recognized throughout the world. This strong dog has two coats: one is a thick wooly undercoat and the other is a shiny overcoat. They are naturally clean dogs that do not need excessive grooming or care. However, keeping your GSDs hair clean will need frequent brushing.
This black and brown beauty’s coat shines under the sun. These dogs do not require frequent baths. The basic grooming needs of a GSD are:
- Cleaning Ears.
- Trimming Nails.
- Bathing.
- Brushing the coat.
- Drying the Coat.
A GSD doesn’t need to be bathed that often. However, it needs to be brushed using a pin brush. A GS sheds its hair twice a year and to get rid of the dead hair, they need to be groomed.
GSDs are prone to hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, skin infections, and anal problems. Most of the health problems in a GSD are hereditary, which means they are adopted from their parents. That’s why it is extremely important to get a GSD from a good breeder and get it tested.
A GSD doesn’t need extensive care. A good diet and lots of exercise will keep your GSD healthy.
