We Love All Types of German Shepherds
The American Kennel Club has strict color requirements, Shepped loves all types of German Shepherds. Most German Shepherds have black and tan fur, but they can come in a wide variety of colors.
Some German Shepherds have 100% black coats while others have 100% white coats. The white coats can’t participate in AKC competitions, but they’re popular among families.
Whether you prefer black and tan; sable gray; solid red; or any other color, we want to help you build a loving relationship with your dog.
A Few Things We Love About German Shepherds
German Shepherds are beautiful dogs. Most of us are drawn to the breed because it looks so regal and powerful.
They have expressive faces that make it easier for them to communicate with their human owners. They also have soft fur that’s relaxing to pet.
There are plenty of things to love about German Shepherds. Looks aside, some of the features we love most are their:
- Natural instinct to protect their people and property
- Strong work ethic
- Eagerness to please
- Gentleness with children and smaller dogs
- Intelligence

Properly trained and socialized German Shepherds have such wonderful temperaments. Many of them know how to tolerate young children, but they also know how to take an aggressive stance towards threats.
That makes them perfect work and family dogs.
We Help You Raise a Happy Dog
Most German Shepherds naturally have great personalities that help them fit in with families. Knowing how to train your German Shepherd, however, will not only make your relationships stronger, it will make him happier.
Basic German Shepherd training will introduce your dog to some simple commands, such as:
- Sit
- Fetch
- Stay
- Shake hands
It’s most important to teach commands that will keep your dog safe. Our site offers instruction on how to use clicker training to shape your dogs behavior. We give you information on helping your dog break bad habits like jumping on people, barking too much, and digging in the yard.

Shepped can also show you how to teach your dog new tricks. Teaching is a fun exercise for people and German Shepherds. You’ll enjoy watching your dog progress, and your dog will enjoy getting praise for doing its job well.
